Tharun Bhascker has transistioned to acting after establishing himself as a writer-director. His new film, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi with Eesha Rebba in leading lady role has released today, that is, 30th January. Even though it is a remake of Jaya Jaya Jaya Hai, the makers have expressed confidence in subject material to work with audiences. Let's discuss about the film.

Plot:
Prashanti (Eesha Rebba) grows in a restrictive household and she feels dejected at every step of life as a second grade citizen to a male. She falls in love with her college lecturer and her parents decide to get her married to fishery owner Omkar Naidu (Tharun Bhascker). He is only a 10th pass and very rough, authoritative. One day, Prashanti decides to hit him back. What happens next? Watch the movie to know more.

Analysis:
Tharun Bhascker is a limited actor and his range is visible in this role. While he did put a lot of genuine efforts to shine in a person who hails from Godavari districts, at many places, it is evident that his body language is different to what this film's original makers have aimed for. So, changes in scenes that suit him could have worked for the film better.

Eesha Rebba is good in parts and she carried the character better. But she couldn't really deliver a knockout performance that this film needed. Even writing for her character has been very diluted in impact as the execution did not highlight the simple moments that writing wanted to elevate.

All others could not really bring that Godavari distinctive flair and flavour to the film. Screenplay is good but Liveliness is missing on screen as sluggish pacing dominates over the energetic framing. Narrative wise the film tries to tell a crucial and necessary point but lacks impact.

Technically, movie doesn't offer much surprises and it is not bad either. Jay Krish music is passable but editing and framing needed to be more dynamic and active to not make sequences look too mundane. Overall, the movie falls short in comparison to original but it's a decent watch for those who did not see it. Could have been better but falls short of expectations.

Bottomline:
Decent movie for those who did not watch the original

Rating: 2.25/5
